July is ARTOWN!

The 5 Star Saloon has been a big supporter of the local arts, not only featuring the works of a new artist every month, but we also employ two very dedicated individuals as our house artists. This month, we are proud to host the works of Tiffany Mayorga, one of those artists. Not only a bartender, but we have been so proud to have her with us as an artist for two years. And you can come down to the 5 Star every Wednesday through Saturday, 10 am-6pm, she will be painting and drawing with any artists that want to come in and be creative with her. She will provide paint supplies, you only have to bring canvas/paper.

Thursday, July 17th - Big Brother Big Sisters "Big Crawl" Fundraiser

6:00-9:00pm - call BBBS @ 775-352-3202 or email randrews@bbbsnn.org for more details. Those wearing the Big Crawl wristband will receive drink specials, $3.50 well and $3.00 draft Bud/Bud Lt. 20% of bar sales from that period will be donated to BBBS. Drink for a good cause, eh?

Friday, July 18th - Yourgayreno.com's 6th Month Anniversary Party

8:00pm - Though the official party is at LaBussola at 5:00-8:00pm, come continue to celebrate at the 5 Star Saloon at the offical after party, starting at 8:00pm and running until there's no one left standing! Drink specials in honor of our partner's successful growth!

Saturday, July 19th - Original Reno Riverwalk Wine Walk

2:00-5:00pm - Please join us and the 20+ participating shops for a wine tasting and stroll along the Truckee River in downtown Reno. You can purchase your commemorative wine glass, map and ID bracelet for $20 here at the 5 Star Saloon, or at any of the other participating shops.

Saturday, July 26th - Reno Beer Crawl

2:00-5:00pm - The Beer Crawl spans five blocks from California Avenue to the north end of the Riverwalk District. Participants include Amendment 21 Grill & Sports Bar, Ceol Irish Pub, the Chocolate Bar, 5 Star Saloon, Foxy Olive, Red Martini, Red Rock Studios, Satellite, Se7en, Sierra Tap House, Silver Peak Grill & Taproom, 3rd Street Blues Bar and The Waterfall. A free Reno Beer Crawl shuttle will circulate along the route providing rides and information.

Participants can purchase glasses and maps for $5 on June 28 from 2– 5 p.m. at Amendment 21 (425 S. Virginia St.) and The Waterfall (134 W. Second St.). Each bar will have 5 ounce glasses of specialty beer available for $1. Beers featured in the first Crawl include popular international brands Smithwick's, Beck's, and Stella, some specialty domestic favorites, and quality local brews from Great Basin, Silver Peak, and Buckbean. A special VIP tour and tasting with a local brewmaster is also available for up to 50 people by reservation. More information can be found at www.renobeercrawl.com.
